Selecting a user type
Y!TunnelPro 2.5 allows you to selectively apply privacy settings to different types of users. This allows the greatest flexibility and prevents Y!TunnelPro from blocking messages from people you may otherwise with to chat with.

The user type selection window contains all four user types supported by Y!TunnelPro and looks like the following:


The user types supported and what category each one is given:
  • Buddies - Users who are on your buddy list.
  • Safe Users - Users you have marked as Safe.
  • Chat Users - Users who are in the same chat room you are in.
  • Unknown Users - All other users.
Simply click on the user type you wish to configure settings for and then adjust the settings.
Allow all instant messages
This privacy level allows all instant messages from the selected user type to be passed on to Yahoo! Messenger.
Block all instant messages
This privacy level instructs Y!TunnelPro to block all instant messages from the selected user type.
Block all instant messages but save them so you can reply.
This privacy level instructs Y!TunnelPro to block all instant messages from the selected user type but to save the message so that you can reply to it at a later time.
When an instant message is blocked send a reply
When this option is enabled Y!TunnelPro will automatically send a reply the first time a user sends you an instant message. Additionally you can instruct Y!TunnelPro to send a custom message by enabling the option labeled "Send Custom Message". To edit the custom message click on the "Edit Reply" button.

**NOTE** Each user type can have their own custom reply.
When an instant message is blocked show a notification in the chat room
When this option is enabled a notification will be displayed in the chat room if the users message has been blocked. The notifications displayed in the chat room window provides additional features so that you can reply to the user, ignore the user, and view the message without leaving the chat window. The following is an example of a chat room notification for blocked instant messages:


The three icons on the left side of the notification provide the following features:

- Ignore the user
- Reply to the message
- View the message


Simply click one of the three icons and the appropriate action will be taken.
When an instant message is blocked play an alert sound
When this option is enabled Y!TunnelPro will play an alert sound when a new instant message has been saved for later review.
Block all offline messages
When this option is enabled all offlines messages sent by the selected user type will be automatically ignored.

**NOTE** This option is not available for the "Chat User" type.
